“The name 1800 is inspired by my great grandmother Mitzi and her life in the 18hundreds. She lived in Vienna during its prime cultural time, a city with influencers such as painter Gustav Klimt and architect Otto Wagner. In my mind her life there came to represent a place where everything is possible, where ideas of art and structure are challenged and unseen possibilities grows. Just as in the 1920’s Paris. For the 1800 Hosiery design I find inspiration in art and architecture and in the culture of creating.”
