Stockholm-based company develops world's first tights with a pocket
Stockholm-based brand 1800 Hosiery has developed the world's first pocket tights. The tights are made in Italy. Everything else, from product idea to packing orders, is handled by founder Clara Renhuldt, a fashion designer trained at Parsons New York.
"The idea with the tights is that they can be used with pocketless dresses and skirts, so you can put your valuables somewhere safe when you're going out on the dance floor. Also for when you're traveling and don't want to have your valuables in your bag," says Clara.
The pocket is located in the wide waistband, which is made of a stronger knit than the leg section, and opens with a nickel-free YKK zipper. It can hold, for example, a mobile phone, passport, tickets and credit cards.
"It must be possible to make more comfortable tights."

1800 Hosiery was founded in 2015 and has since focused on creating increased functionality and comfort in tights. Among other things, with a wide waistband without compression, and developing knee-high socks in bio-based nylon made from castor oil.
